I'm reviewing this here because of the owner of this salon IS the wife of the man who runs the phone shop.. and she is the one who made the horrible racist remark!!! It's the same shop - instead of this woman showing any accountability for her behaviour look at what she replied below!!! The phone shop owner (I think his name is Muhammad, from what heard her call him on the phone) wasn't in this morning when the incident took place but he was on the call with his wife who was behind the phone shop counter. I witnessed a very upsetting situation at this shop. A Black woman came in simply asking for photocopies of her benefit letters — just direct paper-to-paper copies. She clearly explained this to the Nigerian man working there. Instead of photocopying, they scanned the documents and then tried to charge her £1 per page. Understandably, she refused to pay £10 for something she didn't ask for and walked out, saying she could get copies elsewhere for much less. What made things even worse was the disrespectful behaviour that followed. The shop owner's wife, who also runs the tiny beauty salon inside, started speaking rudely about the customer on the phone — and even said in Urdu, "these Black people are thieves!" - she called them "chhor". This was shocking and disgusting to hear. She then went and told the Nigerian man that the woman walked out without paying even after she was given a £3 discount, and instead of trying to understand the situation, he called the woman "crazy." I spoke up and said they shouldn’t speak about customers like that, but he brushed it off saying, “It’s fine, she’s gone.” I also tried to explain that not everyone in Hackney speaks perfect English, and the staff should’ve taken the time to explain the difference between scanning and photocopying, instead of misleading and overcharging vulnerable people. I know that customer, I know her English and she spoke to me while she was there, so I know for fact she'd have explained it in the same way!! All she wanted was photocopies!!! As an Asian woman myself, I’m disgusted by the owner's wife’s racist comment and general attitude. If that Nigerian man knew what she really thought about people of his colour, I doubt he’d be standing by her side. This place needs serious accountability. Do not give these racist people your money! Phone shop and salon are within the same shop and are owned by the same people🙄 hence why this review belongs here!!!!

I’m incredibly disappointed with how I was treated at this salon, especially as a regular customer who has supported them many times before. I came in for a design that I had asked about in advance and was told it was possible. Halfway through my appointment—once the design was already started—I was suddenly told that detail couldn’t be done. I was given no warning about this beforehand. If I had known, I would have chosen something much simpler or gone elsewhere entirely. What made things worse was the reason given: that I had previously asked for a flower to be redone on a past visit. I’ve always been polite and reasonable, and as a paying customer, I don’t think it’s wrong to expect the service to match the request. To have that held against me weeks later—especially without ever being told it was an issue—was unfair and completely unprofessional. The way I was spoken to was disrespectful and humiliating. I left the salon upset, not just because of the nails, but because of how I was made to feel—as if my time and loyalty meant nothing. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon to others.

I had an absolutely wonderful full body massage today at Isha Nails and Beauty in Hackney, delivered by Shabnum. The service was excellent, and I felt truly pampered from start to finish. Shabnum's skilled hands worked wonders, helping me relax and unwind completely. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for top-notch massage therapy!

First time getting lashes done here. Can't believe how quickly she did a full set - perfect as I could fit it in to my lunch break! They look amazing - better than I've ever had them done before.Last minute get perfect wax done as well. So pleased of their staff and will definitely go for more services.
