I purchased a 90-minute massage deal from groupon. This was the 'fine print' on groupon: "Appointment required, contact by phone at [phone number]; provide Groupon code. (...) Valid Tuesday - Wednesday 10:00 - 20:00, Thursday - Saturday 09:00 - 21:00, Sunday - Monday Closed." I called the number as required, no one answered. The phone number called me back a few minutes later and asked why I called. I explained I had purchased the massage deal on groupon. The woman on the phone then asked me if I was available next Monday in the morning. I said no as I'm working, and I asked if she was available on Saturday? At that, she snapped at me and said in a very rude way that giving massages isn’t all she does, that she has other things to do. I asked if she was available on any Saturdays at all and she said no. I said on Groupon it’s written that they have availability on Saturdays. She raised her voice again (!) and said that her manager had written that and that she wasn’t available. I asked if she was available on Wednesdays evening. She said no, only Mondays and Tuesdays. I gave up and decided to cancel. Thankfully, Groupon refunded me. I must add that I was very polite and friendly on the phone. For a business to falsely advertise on their availability in order to get people to buy their services is already a dishonest thing. But for staff to snap angrily at customers for absolutely no reason is another thing altogether. Maybe the person on the phone should have talked to their manager, instead of being rude to a paying customer.
